When I am wearing my dry suit the wrist gaskets are on my wrist.  Yes, if
the pressure from the gasket is not on the carpal area the wrist gasket is
not a likely risk factor.  Watch bands are mentioned in the literature, but
again it depends on where one wears their watch band.
