Right now she can't paddle at all but I was wondering if people who use the
bent shaft paddles and have had carpal tunnel really found them to be
effective. I'm trying to decide whether or not to cough up the dough for
an AT bent shaft carbon paddle for her for her birthday (May 17, which
would work well for her recovery time and for when the water gets warmer).

Can't help you on that question, but I found myself developing carpal
tunnel in my right wrist, only. A switch to a left feather managed to
reverse the worst of the problems -- but you get some wierd looks paddling
with a left feather, some times.
