Speaking of carpal tunnel, my wife is currently recovering from this ugly little affliction (drug therapy only, she managed to avoid the surgery). Right now she can't paddle at all but I was wondering if people who use the bent shaft paddles and have had carpal tunnel really found them to be effective. I'm trying to decide whether or not to cough up the dough for an AT bent shaft carbon paddle for her for her birthday (May 17, which would work well for her recovery time and for when the water gets warmer). The worst thing about all of this is that we're not sure we'll be able to continue our BCU training with GRO this year. Did the one day class and two day workshop last year. Wanted to do the 3 star training and assesment then the intermediate workshop this year. Any time I mention possibly just going without her gets me in trouble. :( <sigh> Oh well, maybe I can use this year to save up for a Romany Explorer. :) BTW, she got carpal tunnel from the computer. She really preaches the virtues of ergonomic keyboards, workstations, and trackballs now. You can reply to the list, me or her (Julie) ( grindolj_at_lindahall.org ).
