I agree, his screw-ups are a lesson to all of us!  (;-)

One paddler who had to be rescued by the Coast Guard would never talked about 
it and discouraged others from reporting it.  He had to be plucked form a sea 
mount  only 500 yards from shore. His reputation as a vender/trainer were 
more important then lessons learned.
