It's snowing here in the Twin Cities, so it must be time for the Minneapolis Boat Show. This year, realizing how under-represented paddle sports had been at previous shows, the producers donated a booth to the Minnesota Canoe Association. In return, the MCA agreed to provide free programs related to paddle sports. Inland Sea Kayakers, which is a chapter of the MCA, will have a display there, and several of the speakers are ISK members (three are also Paddlewisers). If you come to the show, stop by and say hello (we're in the lobby closest to the parking ramp). Linda and I will be there most of the non-work hours to answer questions about sea-kayaking, and Dana Dickson will lead off the list of speakers at 6:00 tonight with a knot-tying class. Andy Knapp will speak Friday about choosing a kayak. I will have several Greenland paddles on display, and will talk about them Sunday. For more information, including the full list of ISK speakers and topics, see http://www.isk.canoe-kayak.org/events.html. BTW, it was interesting to see how the the paddle sports talks were played up in the ad in this morning's paper. Maybe we're more important than we knew.
