I hate to bring foot pumps up again so soon but... I just got a Guzzler 400 foot pump to mount in my kayak. Unfortunately, the spring is so strong that it just wasn't practical for use in a kayak. I've cut the length down and re-bent the spring to the original height. This has at least got it to the point where it would be usable, but still too stout for any extended pumping. I can't cut any more length off the spring without affecting the height. Since the pump only has to pull water up a 1 foot head in a kayak, I just don't see the need for a real strong spring (and the accompanying leg cramps). I wonder if anyone else has any experience with foot pump springs and what they used. I remember reading someone used bungie, but I don't understand how that was attached to the pump. Thanks in advance, Woody *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Sun Jan 23 2000 - 10:56:59 PST
