[Paddlewise] searching again

     I'm back on the great search for a new boat. I have struck out on the two I "thought" I was buying. The Gulfstream, my first choice, wouldn't work because the new mold won't allow the seat to be taken out and the stock seat doesn't fit me. So I went to the Dagger, MeridianSK. This boat is okay but not ideal because it the sever weather cocking it does in any wind. With the skeg it seemed to be good but I never really got to test it. The skeg on this boat is just doa and I really should have a boat that doesn't need one for me to feel confidant in it.
     The Meridian is probably not the boat I should be buying right now, anyway. I need a boat for day paddling that is very good without mechanical assistance. The Meridain is really a play boat for surfing rather than long distance paddling from what I can tell. It certainly is a great deal of fun in the right water.
     So, what I really want is a boat that tracks well, turns easily, has decent initial stability and good secondary stability, between 16' and 17' long between 22" and 23.5" wide, has a low back deck, deck lines, bulkheads fore and aft.
      I know what I want is really the Gulfstream. If anyone knows of a boat that matches this description let me know. If anyone has a used Gulfstream in decent shape available contact me back channel.
