Joan, have you paddled a Romany? Your description seems to match that boat well. And, (although you have to be pretty handy to do this) you can remove the seat and replace it with a foam seat with backband (we did that in our Romanys & are very happy with the arrangement). > I need a boat for day paddling that is very good without mechanical assistance. <snip> > So, what I really want is a boat that tracks well, turns easily, has decent initial stability and good secondary stability, between 16' and 17' long between 22" and 23.5" wide, has a low back deck, deck lines, bulkheads fore and aft. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Thu Jan 27 2000 - 06:02:30 PST
