My most sincere thanks to Scott, Woody, Tom and Dave. Your prompt responses confirmed my suspicions of having purchased a "bad" tube. Having this list to fall back on for advise, I feel like a contestant on "Millionaire" calling their "Lifeline" In my impatience I used 2 part epoxy from MAS instead of the recommended 5200 to glue up the bow and stern blocks on my north Alaskan recovery kayak project. Hopefully this wasn't a major mistake. Is it safe to assume that rougher surfaces bond best with the 5200 as opposed to smooth surfaces? The rougher the better? Thanks again everyone Jed *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************

Smooth sticks well also. I use it on glass boats below the waterline wherever I put a through hull, or anything I dont ever want to remove. Only once have I tried to remove something I put in with it, a leaning post. Even after cutting as much as I could reach under flanges with a razor, it ripped the deck up. Yup, if its temporary, use something else! Does 3M 5200 work on plastic Boats? If it does it sure sounds like a viable replacement for duct tape around the house and in the boat!! *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************
