I've wondered if this isn't the case.  I've not had any problems with
leaky bulkheads in my Sea Lion.  I'm not particularly careful with it
but not particularly hard on it either.  I've rolled it in surf, paddled
in rough water, practiced self rescue and never had the bulkheads leak.
But if they ever do, I'll just reseal them.
