To Jackie, Joan, and Peter: Thanks for the advice on saltwater itching. Wiping down with a bit of freshwater and baby wipes seemed to do the trick pretty well... BTW, my second kayak lesson went pretty well. Only tipped out twice, but this was an excellent chance to practice rescues. We are being taught in Romany 18s, without rudders, using feathered Lendal paddles. I'm still a bit unsteady, but my wife is doing better than I. We also practiced entering and exiting through some surf. Now THAT was fun!
