Here's what I send to Jack Martin about the event, which is purely my version: The dates are April 14-16. I've been haunting the Charleston Parks & Rec web site (http://www.chascoparks.com/), but they don't have anything posted yet. You might stop by there and sign up for their quarterly flyer. I kinda hate to get all that paper that I end up throwing away, though. Based on my experiences from 1998, I'd suggest pre-registering and signing up for courses ahead of time, especially for the on-water courses with big-name folks like Derek and Nigel, but you can register and sign up for stuff on the spot. The sign-up form they sent in the mail was not intuitive, so we didn't sign up for anything in advance. The park has a nice campground, and you can pitch a tent on grass. I'm bringing a bike, as it's a long walk to the dining hall. Tons of demo boats. Not much in the way of sales, except for accessories. Great classes, on and off water. Early morning cruises every day, at least one featuring a surf exit/entry. Oh, it's sand flea mating season. Bring long pants, socks (I'm not embarrassed to wear Tevas and socks), and Skin-so-soft.
