So maybe I can elucidate a bit - the thought was spurred by two considerations: 1. If the file is in a vector graphic format it can be resized infinitely without any image distortion. If it is in a raster format resizing will cause image distortion. If the image can easily be manipulated then it could easily be adapted to use on a variety of items or mediums. (For more info on graphic formats a good intro can be found at: http://www.digitalid.com/vectorVSraster.html ) 2. The key to the whole thought is that if the image were made freely available as a download on the PaddleWise web site then it would be up to each member to find a graphics shop, sewing shop, etc to create their own patch, button, decal, hat, t-shirt, etc. This would relieve any one member from having to bear the financial burden of up front production expenses, order processing, collection, and finally shipping.
