Re: [Paddlewise] opinions sought on folding canoe

hi Elmer,

i paddled a folding canoe about 2 or 3 yrs ago at a boat demo on a small
lake. compared to other kayaks and canoes that i've paddled, i concluded
that the boat would be ok for me if i need such a boat to take on airplanes.
for land based use, more traditional canoes seem to be better. i though that
the rather high gunnels would catch too much wind and make paddling
difficult. if you  really don't need a folder, i recommend checking out
other boats. unlike folding kayaks, i haven't seen any folding canoes
offered for re-sale.

it would be interesting to read the opinions of folks who own folding
canoes.
