pre-paddling haunts again, only this time with a kayak, which would they
be and why?>>

I spent the 60's in West Pakistan. Our family would vacation on the Indian
Ocean near Karachi. Just a few miles from the city exists beautiful sandy
beaches replete with rolling surf (to the extent that serious under-tow
prohibited most swimming). The locals "don't do beaches", meaning great
solitude avails itself to the inquisitive individual who heads off the
beaten path. BTW, the beach houses that dot the shoreline were often
inhabited temporarily by missionaries of various stripes, enjoying a little
R&R, while the faithful back home think these guys were hard at it!

I would love to go back and paddle sections of that coastline, or even head
over to the Sychells. And, I suppose I could even paddle down the Indus,
and have an article for SK magazine, complete with dead floating animals,
etc! I also traveled near Greece as a child, and would love to paddle
amongst the multitude of islands we saw from the air. My favorite vacation
spot my father's engineering company used to send us to was the west coast
of Italy - now that's a beautiful coastline with wondrous small fishing
villages. I could even drink the wine now!

Well, not sure if I meet the criteria ralph originally set out, but that's
my take for now.
