Bill Said I have 3 sea kayaks hanging in my >garage. Since it's **my** garage, I just drilled holes for about 10 cheap >eye >screw-ins (some of the screw eyes can be shared by two boats) from the >local >hardware store. It's very easy to raise and lower the boats using these. >The >lines are anchored to two screw eyes on one side of the boat, one at bow >and >the other at stern. A 3/8 or 1/2 inch line then goes under the boat between >each of these pairs. The "free" end of the lines go up to the pair of screw >eyes on the opposite side of the boat. The lines are tied to themselves, >using simple overhand knots, 2-3 throws each tie. > that similar to what I do now-its nice because I can hoist the boat up into the garage loft to get it out of the way. The other ones are in more simple slings-no pulleys or anything. I really don't think the landlord would be happy about any drilling whatsoever, so I'm also wondering how easy it is to fill the holes back in with spakcle or whatever once I move out again. I hink I need another recon visit... *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Mon Mar 06 2000 - 06:38:50 PST
