Bingo! A 10 minute operation with fast setting epoxy! But if you own a
Werner it's wrap it up, take it to UPS, pay $15 or $20 to ship it, wait a
week or two ,pay them $40(including shipping?) and hope it arrives
undamaged. Seems crazy to me!

So far both paddle manufacturers were more then happy to supply me with the
sleeve. The Lendal kit came with an extra SS button thingy.

I don't mean to come down on Rob but clearly he required the parts and they
refused to supply them. I would not have accepted their lame rational, and
certainly would not have defended it.

<<It's actually very easy to cut down a 2 piece. Most manufacturers will
sell you a kit for +- $20.>>

I have a Viking paddle made locally by a fellow who is really a ww paddle
maker but wanted to get into touring paddles so he was putting demo paddles
into people's hands just to get them seen. When I picked up my paddle from
him he had made it feathered. As I usually paddle Greenland the feathered
paddle was too much and so I watched as he cut it appart for a take appart
and then drill a hole and insert the gizmos that hold the pieces together.
It looked easy to glue in the sleeve and insert the clip piece at the right
place.

I've never tried it but I don't think it would be very hard.
