If you want to go to the above mentioned URL and can't get there, try using
http://isk.canoe-kayak.org/report8_99.html instead.

Kepp in mind that fuzzy rubber and HydroSkin (from NRS) are two
different materials. I have HydroSkin pants, long-sleeve shirt and
short-sleeve shirt and love 'em for early spring and fall paddling.

Also, the "fuzzy rubber" that Jody and Linda have is Wyoming Wear Splash
Gear, not the Malden Mills version that RapidStyle calls "Fuzzy Rubber."
FWIW, I prefer the RapidStyle designs (I have the full jacket with sealed
seams and adjustable neoprene neck and waist). I'm still puzzled why
Wyoming Wear put a collar on their Splash Gear vest; it makes wearing it
under a splash jacket so much more difficult.

I'll be in San Diego next week at the Town & Country Convention Center [500
Hotel Circle North]. Tuesday is a free day and I'm hoping to get in a
paddle. I'm not familiar with the area and was hoping a Paddlewiser or two
could point me in the right direction -- kayak shops with rentals, good
paddlin' spots, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Frank,

Rob's book is an excellent starting place. He has paddled the entire coast
from Monterey to Mexico. He and some friends are working on the remaining
west coast and I'm not sure how far they have completed.

As a paddler in LA, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties, I use Rob's book
frequently. There are none better!

You could also check with the San Diego Kayak Club (do a Google search for
the address) and a great kayak shop/outfitter is Aqua Adventures who can be
a source of some great info as well.

Wish I could join you!!
