Re: [Paddlewise] Wave Speed . . .

Having paddled a time or two with Dave and his pal Becky, let me
assure you that "more than you bargined for" with respect to
estimating wave speed is not the only arcane subject these two have
stored in the wings.

I thought a potato was a potato until I was enlightened. Dave offers
useful tips for the lovelorn too, and everything you ever wanted to
know about chemistry . . .

Well . . . this balloonist is lost, so he descends just over a cyclist
on the roadway below, "Excuse me! Can you tell me where I am?"

"You're about 10 metres in the air, right over the roadway."

"I'll bet you're an engineer, right?"

"What makes you say that?"

"Well . . . the information you gave me is absolutely true, and
perfectly useless."

"Really! And I'm betting you're in management . . . You haven't a
clue as to what you're about, but somehow you're convinced it's my
fault!"

--but you gotta admit, it's more fun than paddling alone . . . *G*
