I am pleasantly surprized by the fact that the anal retentive paddlers on this list haven't preached at us about how dangerous and risky it is to do anything alone. I was expecting to see replies like, "well, I wouldn't do it unless I had a helicopter escort" or something like that. Nothing can compare to the feeling of paddling by yourself.... nothing. It's a risk that I plan on taking for as long as I'm alive.
