If you have a lightweight paddle it's possible to break the paddleshaft. I'm pretty sure at least Lightning recommends against doing this, particularly with their carbon paddles. I know my wife did in her favorite paddle (a Baldwin) using it to get into her boat. The shaft broke right under her hand, which was in the middle of the span between the hull and shore. kirk *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Fri Apr 21 2000 - 05:38:55 PDT
