I admired Bob Hancock's pulley system for stringing up his yaks, so much, that when we moved into a new house this last week, one of my first acts was to similarly emplace my fleet. Bob was cagier, though: he put his over the spots where his vehicles run. Because he has short vehicles (Subaru SW's, I think), he can lower the yaks onto roofracks, lash 'em on, and go. I can't do that because my main yak-hauler is too tall for the yaks to squeeze under a 7-foot garage door rim. So, I figured I'd sling MY yaks up alongside the walls of the garage, you know, to "... get 'em out of the way." Well, I just wandered out to the garage to admire Saturday's handiwork and had a negapiphany (new word: "negative epiphany" = negapiphany): placing the yaks alongside the garage walls means I have compromised our use of the walls for shelf storage -- and boy! do we need shelf storage space! I'd have been better off to stick the yaks over the vehicles. Bob, you're smarter than I am! -- Dave Kruger Astoria, OR *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Sun Apr 30 2000 - 03:14:50 PDT
