Duane and all, I share that sentiment. I was out this weekend for the first time in awhile (due to a recent surgery). I was paddling out on a completely lake-like south San Francisco Bay. The wind was never more than 3 knots and the ripples were rarely larger than my wake. I did not see a single motorboat on the 9 square miles area of the South Bay during my 2-1/2 hour, 9 NM paddle. The only other boat on the water was a lone kayaker who pulled into the dock 5 minutes after me. I think 9 square miles is big enough for 2 paddlers in the same day.
