I bought an eMap for a friend in Mexico and carried it to him. He picked
me up in Mexico City and eventually drove to places like San Miguel de
Allende and Tampico. I got to use the gps as I was in the passenger seat,
while he put it in his chart case while on the wat.

All the roads and highways where very visable, it told us how far and fast
we were travelling, all that stuff. I don't know what the "cross" really
means either, but I was impressed.

I was given a Magellan five years ago to demo on a trip, and it was
pretty fun until the keyboard became defective.
