Sailboat Restorations Inc wrote about a new Yak bag... I always keep the Yak-bag I get for free whenever I fly somewhere. My little paper bag sounds greatly inferior to your tough synthetic jobbie though ;^) If you like to make gear yourself - I have a suggestion... I would run down to any store that carries Perception kayaks, all the boats come wrapped up in a really heavy felt material. You can usually scam it free from clerks that normally toss it. OR you can shell out the bucks down at the local fabric shop. This felt is great for quick stitching up a boat bag, paddle sock, whatever. My 3-sleeve paddle sock has been holding up very well for a couple years now. To make it, I simply folded a sheet of felt 3 times and carefully made sure a blade would fit in each hole. Then I stitched it down one side and around the end. Making a sock, for a boat out of this material wouldn't be too hard. I would however install a zipper to run from one end, to the widest part of the boat so it is easy to put on. Gotta go give blood now, (Red Cross, not exploratory whitewater) Phil When I get back, I can't wait to tell you about a local trip on a much forgotten river.
