Since I've got a lot of incoming back-channel flak I thought I'd save time and post a general retraction: I didn't mean it. I was just being cranky and drawing unsubstantiated conclusions to make a point. My point being that we should try to lessen our impact at the cost of a slight inconvenience. The guy in the empty SUV as big as an NYC studio apartment (stop me I'm using sarcasm again!) was unnamed and unhurt by my pontification. I am unsure why folk are so compelled to defend him.
