To the PW list - I do apologize for my post on the "kayak registration" topic Thursday. I sent it off hurriedly, as an attempt at humor. It never crossed my mind that some people would be deeply offended by it - and of course it should have crossed my mind. There are people on this list who can post off-topic and humorously. My "humor" is sometimes clumsy, sometimes misguided, as in this instance. I'll let others try to lighten the discussions for a while now. As I explained to Bill through private email, nothing seems to send a topic off-track and bring out the flames faster than the subjects of guns and politics, especially gun politics and I didn't want to see the original topic get kicked aside in the fall-out. We just left the gun battlefield not too long ago (though I saw more battle behind the scenes than what took place on the list and it was grim 8-} I really didn't want to go there again. Anyhow, to those that celebrate it, have a happy and safe Memorial Holiday.
