I'm currently reading Tom Miller's book "Trading with the Enemy - A Yankee travels through Castro's Cuba"; a well written and fairly informative read chronicling the author's attempt, and eventual success, at being granted pretty much unhindered access to travel and journalistic endeavors during his six month residence in Cuba. Reading this book has really stimulated my interest in traveling to Cuba, which of course must be done in a roundabout manner for the U.S., usually through the Caribbean or Europe. From what I've read, paddling around and through the country would be a blast and fairly affordable to boot, assuming there aren't too many bureaucrats in the way. The rest of the world doesn't restrict travel to Cuba and so there is a tourist trade there and probably outdoor outfitters as well. And there's always foldables. Anybody on the list have any experience with this?
