Hey-$35 a year. I think my homeowners would cover subject to deductible since it was stolen from my yard. However, getting coverage across the board for $35 a year is incredible. Can you post more info on that insurance company such as how to get in touch with them. I still think we should take every reasonable caution to prevent theft. Do any of you leave your Kayak on top of a vehicle and if so, do you lock it or just hope? Phares M. Heindl Phares M. Heindl P. A. I insure my glass boat for $35/year, about 1.2 percent of the replacement cost. This is nothing compared to the depreciation of the first day's ownership. I figure I will keep this up until the boat is so battered that I couldn't sell it for $1000, then arrange to have it stolen ;-) I store the boat in the garage, and I can't remember if this was a factor in the quote, or conditional for the offer to insure. I still usually use a cable and padlock while cartopping if I plan to turn my back on the boat for more than a few minutes, but it does reduce the anxiety level greatly. My insurer is Amica, which I've naver made a claim on, but my girlfriend and her family have used them for many years and think they are good, so I do have some faith in the coverage. The liability coverage could also come in handy if I ever run over a jetskier! or, more realisticly, a surfer or swimmer at the beach.
