I pay C$50 per kayak on my home insurance. It is replacement value and applies
wherever I take the kayak. If it's taken off the car, I can make a claim even without
a police report!!! No evidence of theft (damage etc) reqd. Caveat - I haven't tested
the company's claim handling on this, so getting a settlement may be easier said
than done, but for car (hit by drunk) and home (break in) they were no problem at
all.

Economical Mutual Ins Co. The coverage is under the same catagory as for small
power boats, sailboats etc.
