This does sound like a Suunto K-15 flush mount. As others stated, this
compass is no longer produced. Truly is a fine compass, great for night
paddling. Purchased the compass in 1992, since sold the kayak but kept the
compass. Due to it's low profile it must be mounted flat to the deck.
Kayaks with a compass recess at a angle would not work with the K-15. With
only about a 15 degree list the dial is in contact with the housing, this is
the main draw back with this unit. It's low profile and the other item's
Jim mentioned is why I really like this compass. At the time I purchased
the K-15 I think the coast was $120.00 US dollars. Not cheap but worth it.
Good luck with your search.
