Here are some additional repair kit ideas, from Optimum Kayak:

In addition to the [duct] tape, here is a list of some other repair items
to consider having along in a repair kit. The nature and length of the trip,
the size of the group, and the distance from help along the route will have a
bearing on this list. Many of these items can of course be shared within a
group to cut down on duplication.

* Patching materials for hull repair. For that long trip in a remote
location, bring a basic fiberglass patching kit including a two-part epoxy
resin, some cloth, small scissors to trim the cloth, mixing stick and tray,
and latex or nitrile gloves. For fabric hulls, bring a swatch of the fabric
and a compatible adhesive.
* Spare parts for key pieces of equipment. This can include extra deck pad
eyes, stainless bolts and nuts, rudder parts, cables, drain plug, frame
section, and so on. Tools that are necessary to fit these parts need to be
included. Pocket multi-purpose tools are great, but if you have a part that
requires a screwdriver and a pliers at the same time, you will still need
another tool.
* Sewing kit with fabric tape.
* Aquaseal and/or other repair adhesives to match the gear you are using.
* Nylon cord, 1/8th inch, about 50 feet, has almost as many potential fix-it
and camp uses as duct tape.
* Matches or a butane lighter. Good to have these stashed in several
locations.
* Several heavy-duty plastic bags.
* Length of stretch cord or several bungee cords.
* Other useful items may include a short hacksaw blade, small section of
minicell foam, some corrosion-proof wire, and a Mylar emergency blanket.
* Camping and other gear parts and repair kit, for stoves, etc.

Hey, how would some of you people down south like to trade some warm weather
for our excess rainfall?
