Auckland isn't in Australia (yet).

I wondered why their fully loaded kayaks felt tippy, that's the time mine
actually feels stable?

The other trips he mentions down there, the second one, a commercial
venture, organised by Australians on a Russian ship - we had one of the
paddlers talking to us recently at our club meeting. They used doubles,
Prijon Odyseas (sp). Their paddling area was the west side of the Antarctic
Peninsula.

Did I miss it or was there no date for Wade's expedition?

FYI, at Canoecopia I attended a presentation by Stan Chaldek and Nigel
Dennis about their Sea Kayak trip to the Antarctic Peninsula last January
and February.
It seems to be becoming a popular place for kayaking!
