Hey there everyone,
I was hoping that I could tap the
collective knowledge of Paddlewise to find out what I
can do to protect my camera when I go paddling. I
know that they sell water-tight boxes like "Pelican"
brand, but they are pretty expensive. I have been led
to believe that this brand (Pelican)is the "standard"
so I am wondering if I should just buy one of these.
At the same time, I don't want to just pay for the
name. I am sure that some of you have storage boxes
for your cameras. So I was hoping that you could point
me in the right direction. I would like something
that will hold my 35mm along with a telephoto lens and
a few other things like a flash, film and stuff like
that. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the help,
                   Dave Gutierrez, Bahrain

I have bought watertight plastic boxes at either REI or LL Bean, I forget
which. They seal tightly with a rubber seal and pressure clamps and are
available in several sizes. I know that they were not too expensive or I would
have remembered what I paid for them.

I may look at from a different angle but how much do you have invested in
your camera and gear, do you want to be cheap to protect it,I was talking
to my nephew last night about it , we both have Sony Digital camera that
cost between $800-$1000 and a under water case is about the same price, do
you want $30 to protect $1000?? Buy the best you can afford and you won't
be sorry
