I seem to remember from a year or two ago, someone recommending a couple of books on kayak routes and put ins for the Toronto, ON, Canada area and another for the eastern end of Lake Ontario/western end of the St. Lawrence River. I even think that one of the authors was on this list. If anyone recognizes what I am writing about, I would appreciate the information on the books' titles and how to purchase them. Thanks. Sea Kayaking Lakes Huron, Erie and Ontario, by Sarah Ohrman and Bill Newman. I'm not 100% sure on the title, but will check when I get home if someone doesn't correct me first. -- Wes *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************
Hi John, Bill Newman here one of the authors to the two book set from Globe Pequot Press on kayaking the Great Lakes and the Saint Lawrence. I will have Sarah send you a followup note. She was the one the researched the routes on Lake Ontario and the Thousand Islands area. Sarah can also hook you up with some local paddlers in the Toronto area who were a great help to us while researching the routes. I did the research on the Saint Lawrence for the Tadousac area about 150 miles east of Quebec City. Check your local outdoor and kayak shops for our books. If then don't have them please let us know the name of the shops so we can get the word out. The publisher has not done a good job of letting folks know about the Eastern Lakes book. If you don't find them in a local store they are available via Amazon.com.
