Like Richard I have an aversion to jet ski's (they have earned it in the past). However after today I too may have to start rethinking. We had a "Paddlefest" event with 39 kayaks out for a short trip. That may not sound like much for most of you guys, but when you paddlle 4 days a week and see 2 or less other kayaks per week, seeing 39 in one day is a big deal. About 15 of them were first or second time paddlers who took advantage of free loaners from a local kayak rental. We had support from a fire department zodiac, but the group get real spread out. Our additional support came from a jet skier. He did a great job of covering lots of ground to check on paddler's who had wandered off in various directions. He went out of his way to keep from setting up in waves that might disturb the kayakers. Maybe it should be: "jetskis are not obnoxious - people are obnoxious". Then again they are loud and smelly no matter how nice the driver is. Mark J.
