[Paddlewise] Diver tending and diver(?) pigeon

I had some kayak fun today in Monterrey being a "diver tender" for the
harbor cleanup dive. There were two highpoints of the the day, for me.
First was the small octopus found living inside a _lawnmower_ recovered
from the harbor. Second was a diving? pigeon. I was paddling along
following some diver bubbles when I noticed a bird nearby. Looking over I
saw that it wasnt' a normal marine bird but a pigeon that was floating
along with it's neck and head out of the water. I paddled over and
grabbed it and put in my boat where it sat looking rather dismal. I don't
know how it got there, but I gave it to one of the boats taking divers
back to the beach and they said they'd try to put it somewhere safe so it
could dry out. Anyone else ever see a pigeon in the water? I seem to
remember resembling that rather cold/wet pigeon in this very same area
not so many moons ago.

Fair winds and happy bytes,
