Has any paddlewiser ever seen, or even heard of, any sit-on-top/open deck kayak longer than the Cobra Tourer (15 feet) which has a tank well? It seems that a fast/easily paddled kayak for divers is a design niche that hasn't been filled by anyone. I'm aware of the Heritage and the Cobra Expedition models which are 18 feet long and 28" and 24" wide, respectively but neither has a 'tank well'. I think the tank well is the only really practical way to carry a weight belt (read 15-25 lbs of lead) and/or a SCUBA tank on a kayak. Strapping them onto the deck is bound to have really adverse effects on the stability of the boat. Putting them inside a hatch is not a safe alternative, i.e. opening a hatch at sea isn't generally a good idea on boats with no bulkheads (or even with bulkheads).
