Jed, My experience is limited since I have only had it about a month. I have not put it in a bag at all. It has survived a couple of trips tied to the deck with quite a bit of splashing (waves were sometimes coming over the cockpit) and has gone through one short rolling session (6-8 rolls) just tied on the front deck. I got my first Coast Guard emergency broadcast just after these rolls. So far so good. I am taking it out for some more rolling tommorrow. I have one question. Are there any special tricks or precautions to use when taking out or putting back in the NI-cad battery to make sure it is still submersible? Not a whole lot of information in the manual. Mark J.
