I have had my HX350S about 2 months.  I found that after a real rough sea
entry (crash and burn type) the speaker did not work until it dried out.   I
contacted Standard Horizon who advised that the speaker is waterproof and in
its own waterproof compartment.  Just shake the water out and it would work
fine.  I did a couple of tests with high pressure water from a hose to
produce the same effect, shook it out a couple of times and it was like new.
Yes it works, it is submersible and you do not need a bag.
