[Paddlewise] complimentary paddling techniques?

For all but the last 3 months of my paddling life I've paddled Euroblades. For the last 3 months I've paddled Greenland sticks. Today I paddled, out about 8 miles using a Greenland stick then back using a Euroblade. While I'm fairly certain my Greenland technique is average for someone having done it only 3 months, what I found really interesting was that 3 months worth of focus on "elbows in" torso rotation has noticeably improved my Euroblade technique torso rotation. I haven't lost any skills using my Euroblade during the 3 month hiatus (bracing, rolls, etc.), but my forward stroke technique feels smoother/easier.

So I'm curious. Has anyone, who paddles both blade types/techniques, noticed similar changes in one style after learning/using the other style? Or am I just full of it 'cause unused muscle groups were getting a long missed workout?

P.S. Whatever happened to power boaters (travelling quite fast) giving kayakers and other power boaters 100' (30m) berths, especially when the kayaker isn't in a major traffic area and presumably plenty visible? Or am I living in a dream world?
