Lee it is probably more unhealthy not to go at all and those of us past 40
have this problem more often. Plus I do trips that can mean I am in the boat
all day as there is no where to land or I am a long way off shore.

I have heard of some paddlers avoiding drinking to avoid peeing. I would not
recommend this.

The best method I have found is a small plastic bottle that can be kept in
the cockpit and just empty the contents over the side. Peeing in your
wetsuit, although a lovely feeling for the first few minutes becomes
uncomfortable later. Some paddlers I know pee straight on their sponge and
squeeze that over the side.

I hope this helps
David
