Nigel Foster?

I don't know if he was the author of that particular article but I have
read an article Nigel wrote on surfing that was quite good.

What do you think the paddler in the illustration is doing, a left side
upright reverse sweep, all at 90 degrees to the wave? Very technical. How
long does a peaked cap stay on in surf?
