As part of it, the tourist office was footing the hotel bill and providing hospitality suites, parties etc. for kayakers who paticipated. An arrangement was made to transport kayaks from Tarragona, a port city about 50 miles south of Barcelona Spain. It was announced on PaddleWise I believe or at least someone pointed to the website for this event.
