Tom:  remember that these lines are for rescues -- someone who is as heavy
as you, or even heavier, will be holding these lines as he/she tries to
hoist body and soul onto the deck.  Also, these lines might be used for
towing.  Given the intended use, be sure that the deck fittings you use are
up to the stress.  Seems to me the fittings that Steve referred to might be
too weak.
