I don't think that HydroSkin would be up to the level of cold-water protection you would need in Mass. between December 1 and mid-April (I am using very rounded off markers for the cold water season where you are). At best, in its effectiveness it is the equivalent of under 2 mm of neoprene (it's actual neoprene content is 0.5 neoprene but reflective flecks etc. probably double that or so).
