Hey folks, I thought that Paddlewisers might be interested in the debate over genetically modified salmon, which seems to be rekindling. Apparently some of the so-called frankenfish have reached the size of 550lbs. I personally think it is a VERY bad idea. Humans are too mean and crummy to understand how to manipulate evolutionary mechanisms that are too finely balanced. Also, the so-called Trojan Gene Effect is a very scary possible ramification that could lead to the extinction of many populations of wild fish.
