[Paddlewise] assisted rescue question

could you explain a bit more about the assisted rescue?  i understand 
about the initial pulling the capsized boat across the prow of 
another boat....but how far? and once the water comes out of one end 
it must run to the the other end so how do you empty the boat or do 
you?

any answers would be appreciated
