I have always made "cowboy coffee" boiling 1/4 ground coffee in 2 quarts of water (you bring to a boil then boil for 5-8 minutes for safety reasons....you can use any type or color of water , other than saltwater, though "brackish" is OK. Remove from Optimus stove, dump a bit of cold water into settle grounds, then decant. HMM! When my wife's (who BTW is a Sheldon High grad from Eugene, B00jum!) family found out they started buying us all these little coffee making gadgets, including REI drip expresso makers, etc. The in-laws WERE bright enough not to get electrical ones, however. We stick to our "boil a brew method"..though occasionally I will bring some hazelnut, or French vanilla flavored grind along . rich dempsey *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced/forwarded outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: PaddleWise_at_PaddleWise.net Subscriptions: PaddleWise-request_at_PaddleWise.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Fri Sep 08 2000 - 00:10:29 PDT
