Hi, Bill Newman here. Under the guiseof protecting the world from recalcitrant xenobiotics I will be traveling to Tampa this week. If all goes well I should finish my work by Friday and I plan to stay over the weekend. Any suggestions on outfitters and paddling locations. I did not manage to ship my Romany as "test equipment" so I will need to rent boat, PFD, float, pump and paddle. Do most of the outfitters require some proof of instruction or require you to take a safety class etc.? Agua Azul on the corner of Curlew and (Old?) 19 in Clearwater (at the foot of the bridge that goes out to Honeymoon Island State Park) if you want to do some saltwater paddling. Paddling around Caldesi Island just south of Honeymoon Island is nice. If you want to do some fresh water paddling there is Canoe Escape near the Hillsborough River in northeast Tampa across the street from the big flea market. Sorry I don't know the street name. Hillsborough River State Park rents canoes. I don't know Canoe Escape's policy, I've purchased stuff there but never rented from them.
